The
library Holdings

PSince
the Library holdings of the Faculty of Agriculture – Forestry were burned
in 1944, Faculty of Forestry started its library establishment in 1944.
The holdings were first composed of the books, presented by the Federal
Ministry of Forests and Mines. Later on the holdings were filled up by
acquisition, presents (books and periodicals) and by exchange.
The Library has more than 68,000 library units. In fact, more than 44,000
books, and the rest are volumes of periodicals. It includes a significant
collection of the works in the field of Forestry sciences, professional
and scientific periodicals, text books necessary primarily to the students
of the Faculty of Forestry.
M. Sc. Theses and Ph.D. Theses defended at the Faculty of Forestry, as
well as at other Forestry Faculties in Yugoslavia, because this Library
is the centre of all the Faculties of Forestry in the country.

Serial
publications 
This
sector consists of more than 1,500 titles and over 23,000 volumes of the
periodicals and newspapers.
The holdings were filled up till 1994 by purchases and presents, as well
as by exchange for the editions of the
Bulletin of the Faculty of Forestry. The Bulletin is exchanged
with 120 institutions abroad and 53 institutions in the country. 92 issues
with 1039 papers have been published to date. The Bulletin publishes scientific
articles in the field of Forestry, Wood Processing, Landscape Architecture
with Horticulture and Erosion and Torrent Control.
This way of filling up the holdings is very important, because of the
prices which are very high.
Wood Processing is
another periodical published by the Faculty of Forestry since 2003 (13
issues so far).
The Library has a Photo Collection
by the engineer Mr. Stevan Kolarovic, as the present of the Library from
professors and staff of the Faculty.
The Faculty also has a valuable collection of old professional books and
text books used at the Faculty
since 1920.
The Library has the license for EBSCO since 2000with data bases for a
few thousands of electronic journals in full text from different fields
of science, as well as Forestry.
Library has also editions on CD-data bases TREE CD 1939-2001,
which represents three periodicals in paper version:
1. Forestry abstracts
2. Forest products abstracts
3. Agroforestry abstracts
This base is the review of articles with abstracts, as well as the books
in the above fields.
There are about 1800 journal titles.
Searching is possible by:

- journal title
- all the title words
- key words
It is possible to print the data or download and use in any text processor.
For the period 1939-2003 the Library has also the printed version of the
journal Forestry Abstracts, as well as the databases on CD obtained within
EBSCO project.
Rarities,
Ph.D. Thesis 
The
Rarity holdings include old and rare books, mostly in German, and Ph.D.
and M.Sc. Theses of theFaculty of Forestry.

Special
library - legacies 
The Library of the Faculty of Forestry has the presented libraries, kept
as separate units. They differ in size and importance, but represent a
great value both regarding the contents and as the evidence about the
persons of the contributors.
